 Arsenal 4 – 0 Everton

Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal side, a side of whom little was expected at the start of this season, moved five points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League at the Emirates with a thumping 4-0 win over Everton that pushed Sean Dyche’s side deeper into relegation trouble.

They have 13 games left to play and they are holding firm at the summit.

The collapse that many predicted when Arsenal lost to City at home a fortnight ago has not materialized.

They staged a thrilling comeback to beat Aston Villa in Birmingham and then ground out a tough 1-0 victory at Leicester on Saturday.

Everton is fighting for their lives and the Gunners endured a frustrating first 40 minutes against Sean Dyche’s side but Bukayo Saka’s superb opener, rifled home from Oleksandr Zinchenko’s incisive pass shortly before half-time, set them on their way to a commanding victory.
