Novak Djokovic is withdrawing from the Indian Wells Open.

World No 1 Novak Djokovic’s wish for an exemption for the Masters’ competition is fading, with him now unable to compete in the Indian Wells and Miami ATP Masters 1000 tournaments this month due to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).

The CDC has advised all athletes who may have been in contact with the affected individuals in Spain to monitor themselves for any symptoms of Zika.

Djokovic was one of several high-profile athletes that had requested an exemption from the Masters’ event in order to avoid competing while risk of Zika is high. However, with several other top-level athletes now unable to compete due to the virus, Djokovic’s chances of securing an exemption are fading.

Skynews, Novak Djokovic has revealed he is an anti-vaxxer and that it could get in the way of his return to competitive tennis once the sport resumes from the coronavirus pandemic.
