Tinubu was sworn in on May 29 to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari, who was reelected in 2019 to complete a two-term presidency. Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola praised Nigerians for their belief in democracy, which was demonstrated in all of the country’s elections.
The Minister urged Nigerians to continue supporting and promoting democracy by upholding all democratic institutions and adhering to the rule of law. He also urged them to promote the values of peaceful coexistence and love for one’s neighbors, stressing that they can only experience democracy and benefit from it if they uphold these qualities.
