NEWS FLASH: Tinubu suspends EFCC Chairman Bawa.

AbdulRasheed Bawa, the head of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, has been placed on indefinite leave by President Bola Tinubu.

Mr. Bawa’s suspension was based on serious charges of abuse of office made against him. He was instructed to turn over control of his office’s business to the Director of Operations of the Commission right away. Willie Bassey, Director, Information, SGF office, released a statement on Wednesday that Mr. Bawa was directed to immediately handover the affairs of his office to the Director, Operations in the Commission, who will oversee the Office of the Chairman of the Commission pending the conclusion of the investigation.
