Nigeria’s tallest man, Afeez Agoro, has died at the age of 48.

The 48-year-old Lagos-based actor and Nigeria’s tallest man died on Wednesday night at LUTH after a long period of ill health, according to a tweet from Pamilerin Adegoke, a well-known Twitter influencer.

  • Born on 13 December 1975 in Sabo Yaba in Lagos State, Afeez Agoro was the last of three children born to his mother, who was his late father’s second wife, and his father’s first wife.

  • The family moved to the city of Akoka Yaba, where Afeez grew up and had his education, attending St Finbarr’s College, Yaba, graduating with an ordinary National Diploma (ND) from University of Lagos (ULL) and a Higher National Diploma (HND) from Lagos State Polytechnic (LSP).

  • Agora began to grow at a typical rate.

  • However, at the age of 19, he developed acromegaly (commonly known as gigantism), which caused him to grow rapidly vertically.

  • Despite his best efforts, Agoro could not overcome the disease and grew to a height of 7’5″, making him one of the tallest people in Africa. Wikipedia
