Dullar Kid’s Cup Season 2 draws to a close.

Trailing the quest of unstoppable and tremendous developments in Lagos as affirmed beforehand, the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu a.k.a Dullar has taken the citizens by surprise over the delivering of people’s oriented projects.

This time, the Multiple-Award winning Chairman whose respected name and reputation would continue to stick in people’s mind for long, delivered two major roads within the same time frame and equally handed them over to the community for commercial purposes.

The roads were Elediye in Onipanu and Sunday Street in the Ijebutedo areas of Somolu, the prominent printing hub of Africa with inestimable qualities and hierarchy which is second to none.

He also intensified his efforts to resurface the roads of Shipeolu link and Awe Crescent, adding all to the several ones he has completed since he assumed office back in 2017 and 2021 respectively. No wonder he was dubbed ‘Mr Koseleri’ for his giants strides, not only on Works and Infrastructure, but in all sectors.

Consequently, the yearly golden rated Council Chairman stretched his administration’s unbeatable records to a greater extent by putting smiles on the faces of Somolu youths, specifically for those in need of higher institution admission as an edge for them to be more receptive and to further their education.

In that light, he then awarded scholarships to 15 students to allow them study their chosen courses.

The beneficiaries of this significant acts were

8) Issa Oluwatemilola Toibat (Accounting)

9) Odeyemi Opeyemi Alwajud (Science Laboratory Technology)

10) Ubah Victory Omaricha (Business Administration)

11) Luro Ayomide Queen (Accounting)

12) Idris Shuaib Adeshina (Mass Communication)

13) Shittu Ibrahim Abiodun (Mass Communication)

14) Gbadegeshin Fathia Adebukola (Mass Communication)

15) Oduntan Sofiat Opeyemi (Public Administration)

In addition, the Dullar Kid’s Cup Season 2 as organized by Mr Osas Wellington of Amawell sports and which involved 17 primary schools namely, Ijebutedo, Wright Memorial, Wesley, Agunbiade, Baptist, OlaOlu; SS. Peter & Paul, Odunlade, Igbobi, Okemetta, Modupe, St. Paul, St. Peter, St. Augustine, Jehova Shalom and Bashua Military has successfully been concluded.

The genius St. Paul which consisted of a squad of intelligent and brave young ones emerged as the convincingly best team of this year’s awed inspiring tournament. They claimed the top prizes while OlaOlu which they triumphed over, settled for 2nd place and for the 3rd position, Jehova Shalom got the better of Baptist, though survived a last-minute shock to clinch the spot in astonishing fashion.

The trio received cash, trophies and medals as gifts from the Council Chairman, which was best described by Mr Wellington as a motivation for being passionate to display their talents, but not for monetary intents. On the other hand, Hon Mariam Salawu (Chairperson) who represented the youth-friendly Man-of-the-Moment made it known that such annual get-together won’t be marred with inconsistency, but stability at all costs to elevate the kids.

At the final game, other dignitaries present were Hon. Adekunle Ekiyemi (Vice Chairman), Hon. Gbolahan Bagostowe (Immediate Past Executive Chairman, Somolu LG), Prince Sodiq Adeeso (DG, Dullar Continua Initiative), Hon. Ayodele Afolabi (SA on Special Duties), Hon. Rasak Tajudeen, Dr Chris Akinwale (From Somolu General Hospital), Mr John Oladapo (SSA, New Media 1), Mr Elliot Olusegun, Mr Idowu Adebonojo, Mrs Mariam Bada and Mrs. Rabiu Omolara.

From the Legislative Arm angle, the Leader of the house, Hon. Yomi Osunkoya led his fellow Council members, viz. Hon. Ibrahim Tajudeen (Deputy Leader), Hon. Abdul-Lateef Muibi, (Majority Leader), Hon. Mobolaji Teluwo Adebayo (Deputy Majority Leader), Hon. Abdul-Lateef Ashimi (Chief Whip) and Hon. Oyeyiola Tunde James (Deputy Chief Whip) to rejoice with all participants for their outstanding performances as individuals and as a formidable groups.
