…calls it ‘Budget of Consolidation’
… receive accolades from Legislators

As part of his efforts in developing the grassroots, the Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, earlier today presented a budget of N3,451,792,491.36k to the Hon. Yomi Osunkoya led Somolu Legislative Arm of the Council.

According to the Council Chairman who was at Council Chambers along with Hon. Rotimi Olowo (Lagos State House of Assembly Member, Somolu 1) and other APC political leaders in Somolu, Hon. Salawu said “this administration has been working tirelessly to transform the economy of the community by improving the well-being of the people in honouring the pledges we earlier made”. APC party chiefs and past council bosses as well as Councilors were also part of the Legislative event.

“Our administration has been able to turn the hand of the clock of this Local Government to greatness with much infrastructural development, ranging from over thirty-four aesthetic road constructions to encourage investors and boost the economy of the Local Government”, the Council Chairman said.

Presenting the 2021 Budget named “Budget of Consolidation”, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu narrated his administration’s achievements since in education sector, monthly welfare package for elderly people in Somolu, building a soon to be commissioned Primary Healthcare Centre and environmental sector.

Applauding the Council Chairman, Hon. Yomi Osunkoya (Leader of Somolu Legislative Council) said the recent renovation of the Somolu Legislative Councilors’ Chamber, making it suitable and condusive for the Legislators. “I also want to use this medium to express our sincere appreciation on the Executive Chairman for the total renovation of the Legislative hallow Chambers and offices of the Honourable Councilors which will surely enhance the efficient and effectiveness of our legislative duties”, the Council Leader said.

Recall that the Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu-led administration of Somolu Local Government had completed over 30 roads to ease the traffic gridlock around Somolu, Ikorodu Road, Oshodi-Gbagada Expressway and nearby communities. He also constructed ten boreholes for the people of his Local Government Area.

Hon. Bowale Sosimi (Vice Chairman), Ogbeni Taiwo Adesanya (Secretary to the Local Government) led other members of the Executive Council to the Legislative Chamber. Mrs. Arinola Shodipo (Council Manager) also led her management team to witness the presentation of the “Budget of Consolidation”.

  1. With this budget let’s see what they’ll come with, the only thing e in Akoka enjoy is borehole. No provisions for the youth.
